WATERTOWN, N.Y. — With us it the dead of winter, it’s important to remember to drive safely. When traveling on roadways with plows, the DOT wants to remind motorists to try to travel behind them. According to the DOT, that’s where drivers will be the safest. They recommend that people don’t try to pass the plows.
“Snow plows on the highway are legally afforded the same rights of way as emergency vehicles. I mean they are out there for your benefit. Give them a little extra space,” said Mike Flick, DOT Region 7 Spokesperson.
