DISTINGUISHING FEATURES
The work involves responsibility for the cleaning buildings in the Village of Solvay. These buildings include the Village Hall, DPW, Electric Department, Police Department and the Library. Work includes routine cleaning activities.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES
Maintains floors by dust mopping, wet mopping and vacuuming.
Performs a variety of inside cleaning activities, including but not limited to cleaning walls, windows, lavatories and associate fixtures, kitchens, desks and related equipment, dusting and waxing furniture,
FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CRARACTERISTICS
Good knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies and equipment and their efficient use.
Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
Ability to interact and work well with building occupants and others.
Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
MINIMUM OUALIFICATIONS & COMPENSATION
One (1) year of work experience, or its part time equivalent, performing heavy janitorial work. The compensation is $12 per hour and the work week shall not exceed 20 hours.
