Central New Yorkers are Making Smart Decisions to Protect Water Resources

Stormwater runoff is water from rainfall and snowmelt that flows across the land surface, finding its way to a nearby ditch or waterbody such as a river, stream, lake or pond.

The NYS DEC, as directed by the U.S. EPA, has implemented a program to protect and improve surface water resources by reducing stormwater pollution and runoff.
